Jack Briggs was an ordinary guy living in Nomi, Colorado, until his eighteenth birthday. On that day, he was attacked by a strange shadowy creature, which vanished when he let out a thunderous roar. Confused and bewildered, Jack went home and had strange dreams involving an old Chinese man roaring like he did. In the middle of the night he awoke to find the old man standing over him. Jack, the old man explained, was his distant descendant, and inheritor of his power over of the spirit of Baihu, the White Tiger. An ancient evil he had sealed away millennia ago was stirring, and Jack had to fight it. Upon his anscestor's wishes, Jack traveled to China and studied under Tiger Master Quan-Chi Zhong. After mastering, his powers, Jack realized it would be years before the demon woke, and decided to use his powers to help humanity, against Master Zhong's wishes.
