File #002H- El Chupacabra

Height: 3-4 feet

Weight: N/A

Description: Vampiric reptilian(?)

Territory: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Brazil, the United States and Mexico; similar occurrence reported in Moscow.

Information:
El Chupacabra; literally, "the goat sucker" in Spanish. Don't let the name fool you; goat's are not its only victims. The terror of El Chupacabra began in 1995, when eight sheep were found drained of blood, in Puerto Rico. As with most reported Chupacabra attacks, the victims only had one small hole in the body, and no blood was present on the ground. A similar occurence occurred in the town of Moca, in 1975; these killings were attributed to El Vampiro de Moca ("The Vampire of Moca"), and later satanic cults, a popular "explanation" for El Chupacabra; others include wampire bats and one-fanged dogs. The creature is usually described as thus: 3-4 feet tall, scaly green skin, wing-like membranes under its arms, spikes down its back, with glowing red eyes. A curious coincidence is that many of its feaures, when described or drawn by eyewitnesses, El Chupacabra sports a disturbing similarity to the generic Reptoid alien described by abductees. Also, Chupacabra attacks are similar in some ways to the legendary "cattle mutilations," supposedly done by aliens. Theories on the beasts nature include the aforementioned dogs, mutants, aliens, vampires, and the reincarnation of dark gods like Baal.
